Having finished cutting the Z33, it’s finally time to focus on the details.
This time, while considering how to incorporate the hood line, I checked images of actual Z33s online. Comparing photos of the real car, I realized that “the thickness of the line alone completely changes the impression.”
Researching the actual Z33 vehicle

Looking at photos of the actual car and thinking about “what impression I want to convey” is also a fun part of the process. This “observation time” might actually be the most important part of the build. I expect the “joints” between the main body and parts like the bumper will naturally cast shadows and look just right.
Use panel line tape for panel lines.

To recreate the bonnet line, Pandora RC’s Panel Line Tape might be handy. Since you can adjust the thickness to your preference, it allows for a faithful reproduction of the real car’s appearance.

Before that, move on to masking work for windows, lights, and so on.

Finally, it’s time to prepare for painting. I’ll share real-world tips and common pitfalls when masking, from a beginner’s perspective. Stay tuned! I plan to download the template in advance and use masking where I’ve cut out the window frames with a cutting plotter!
