On Sunday, October 25, 2026, at the 8th round of the D1 GRAND PRIX SERIES held at Autopolis in Oita Prefecture, Yuki Tano of Team TOYO TIRES DRIFT 2 claimed her first D1GP victory behind the wheel of a D-MAX-built GR86 (ZN8).
PANDORA RC will release the “Toyota GR86 ZN8 / D-MAX Licensed” RC car body (Part No.: PAB-4239)—an officially licensed reproduction of the winning car by D-MAX—in late November 2026. Additionally, vinyl decals that reproduce the winning car’s livery will also be released.
D1GP Round 8 at Autopolis: Yuki Tano Claims Her First Victory
Round 8 was held on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at the Autopolis International Racing Course. Tano finished second in the solo run (99.08 points) and advanced to the final by defeating Yuta Fujiwara in the semifinals of the pursuit tournament.
His opponent in the final was Kodai Sobakiri of SHIBATA RACING TEAM. It was a matchup between two GR86s (ZN8). The first heat ended in a tie, sending the race to a sudden-death rematch. In the first run of that rematch, Tano, driving from behind, recorded a perfect score of 15 points—the first perfect score from a trailing position in this event. In the second run, Tano took the lead and kept Sobakiri at bay, securing the victory.
The Final Between Two Drivers Who Started Out in RC Racing
Tano began drifting at age 15 and is a driver who came up through the RC drifting scene, having won numerous competitions—including the All-Japan Championship. At that time, Soba-kiri was the one competing with him for a spot on the podium. The two, who had been rivals since their RC days, faced off in the D1GP finals with real cars, and the race went all the way to a rematch. It was a thrilling race for all of us involved in the RC community as well.
D-MAX is responsible for the construction and maintenance of the GR86 driven by Tano. As a D-MAX employee driver, Tano also handles design work using 3D CAD.
The Championship-Winning Car as a Radio-Controlled Model
“Toyota GR86 ZN8 / D-MAX Official” is a radio-controlled body for the GR86 (ZN8) produced with official approval from D-MAX. It recreates the look of the championship-winning car equipped with a D-MAX wide-body kit.

Body Painting Examples
When painted in a single color, the contours of the wide-body fenders and the areas around the air intakes really stand out.
